Chapter 400: The Male Character is Maxed Out
Chapter 400: The Male Character is Maxed Out
At 2 a.m., the lights in the Korean ghost story conference room were so bright they were uncomfortable.
The scene on the screen remained almost unchanged—Park Ji-won lay flat on the bed, breathing evenly.
"Team leader, time's up," the deputy team leader reminded softly.
Team Leader Cui sat up abruptly, rubbed his sore eyes, and quickly glanced at the watch on his wrist.
The 12-hour cooldown period has ended.
"Prepare to send a reminder." His voice was hoarse. "Content: Do not follow Rule Two. Rule Two carries unknown risks. Abandon presumptuous thinking and act solely according to Lin Feng's actions!"
"Understood." The technician's fingers flew across the keyboard.
"Message sent." The technician pressed the confirmation button.
The team members stared intently at the screen, their eyes bloodshot, and they even unconsciously held their breath very low.
However, Park Ji-won in the video was fast asleep, even making soft grinding noises, completely unaware of the red text that suddenly appeared in front of him.
"Damn it! This idiot—is he fast asleep?!"
Team Leader Cui was so angry that he trembled all over and slammed his hand hard on the table.
"The clue is right in front of him! He can't see it! He can't see it!"
The deputy team leader's face turned pale, and he whispered:
"Team leader, he's sleeping too soundly...maybe it's because he was reciting his script before bed."
Team Leader Cui slumped into his chair, covering his face with his hands, his voice filled with despair:
"It's over, completely over..."
The conference room was deathly silent. Everyone looked dejected, watching helplessly as Park Ji-won on the screen, bound by flawed rules, strode step by step into an unknown abyss.
........................
After an unknown amount of time, a deep and resonant bell rang out.
"Thump—thump—thump—"
The deep, resonant sound of the bell, carrying an ancient and eerie penetrating power, slowly echoed throughout the dormitory area, waking everyone from their slumber.
Lin Feng opened his eyes first, his gaze instinctively sweeping over Park Ji-won on the opposite bed.
Park Ji-won had just woken up. He stretched, yawned, and sat up in bed, rubbing his throbbing head, his eyes still a little sleepy.
Lin Feng narrowed his eyes: This guy... is still alive?!
However, he soon noticed that Park Ji-won's skin was noticeably whiter than yesterday, not in a healthy way, but in a pale white with an eerie sheen.
Is this yet another form of slow pollution?
Park Ji-won rubbed his head for a while before he was fully awake. Suddenly, as if he had thought of something, his eyes widened abruptly:
"I had a dream last night! A very vivid dream! What about you? Did you have a dream last night?"
Lin Feng withdrew his gaze and said in a calm tone, "I think I did it, but I don't remember it very clearly when I woke up. I don't have much of an impression."
Park Ji-won immediately wore a speechless expression:
"Senior Lin! How can you be so careless? This is a matter of life and death!"
"Rule Two clearly states that you must write down your dreams immediately and burn them in the early morning, or something terrible will happen!"
As he spoke, he deftly pulled a notebook from under his pillow, then picked up a pen and quickly scribbled on the paper, muttering to himself as he wrote:
"I need to write this down quickly, otherwise I'll forget it and it'll be a problem. I can't miss any details from the dream..."
He moved swiftly, recording the entire contents of the dream in a short time. Then he tore off the page, got out of bed, and found the incense burner.
Park Ji-won lit a lighter and brought the paper containing the dream closer; the paper instantly burst into flames.
He carefully placed the paper into the incense burner, watching the flames slowly engulf the paper and turn it into black ashes before finally letting out a sigh of relief.
Lin Feng and Vassim's eyes never left Park Ji-won, both of them trying to capture every change in him.
Just as the paper was completely burned, the two clearly saw that the color of Park Ji-won's eyebrows faded at a visible speed, making them look even more eerie against his pale skin.
Wasim's eyes narrowed slightly, and he turned his head to exchange a glance with Lin Feng.
Park Ji-won, however, was completely oblivious. Instead, he stretched and looked refreshed.
"See! I told you Rule Two was right!"
"After burning the paper recording my dreams, I felt so much lighter!"
"My head was throbbing a moment ago, but it's completely gone now!"
He puffed out his chest with a hint of smugness: "I told you, your judgment on Rule Two was wrong. Intuition is completely unreliable; you still have to trust the rules in black and white!"
Wasim raised an eyebrow: "So how do you explain that we're still standing here perfectly fine?"
Park Ji-won paused for a moment before realizing what he meant, but his tone remained firm:
"You... you probably only appear fine on the surface; you might have already been contaminated!"
Wasim shook his head speechlessly: "Fine, whatever makes you happy."
The three of them quickly tidied their clothes and then got up together to go to the restroom.
Park Ji-won was the first to walk to the mirror. Just as she was about to turn on the tap to wash up, her gaze inadvertently fell on her own face in the mirror, and her eyes lit up immediately.
He leaned closer to the mirror, scrutinizing himself closely, his voice filled with excitement:
"Look at me! My appearance has changed!"
"My skin has become fairer, and my eyebrows have lightened a bit. Don't I look even more ethereal?!"
"I knew it! Following Rule Two was the right thing to do. This is definitely a sign of progress in my cultivation, and it's the Silent Realm Temple's recognition of me!"
Lin Feng stood behind him, looking at Park Ji-won's pale face and light eyebrows in the mirror, and sighed:
"Congratulations! It seems you will be the first chosen one to complete your cultivation and successfully leave the Silent Realm Temple."
Park Ji-won turned to look at Lin Feng and Wasim, his tone carrying a hint of "kind reminder":
"It's not too late for you to correct yourselves now. We've shared a dorm room, which is a kind of fate. I don't want to see you get corrupted and end up with a bad ending."
"Listen to me, you absolutely must follow rule number two tonight, and you won't go wrong!"
Lin Feng and Vassim exchanged a glance, both speechless.
Wasim patted Park Ji-won on the shoulder: "Alright, stop dawdling, hurry up and finish washing up so we can have breakfast."

Studio:
"Help! Park Ji-won's 'ordinary man' attributes are off the charts, aren't they? He's been corrupted so much, and he still thinks he's making progress in his spiritual practice?"
"He's laughing so hard he can't live anymore. His pale skin means his life force has been drained by evil spirits, and his thin eyebrows mean his spirit is being eroded. He actually thinks he's become an immortal?"
"The intelligence of this chosen one from South Korea is truly hopeless. Even though Brother Feng clearly pointed out that Rule Two is problematic, he still stubbornly insists on it. I'm speechless."
"Isn't extreme trust just stupidity? Thinking that following the rules makes you superior, little do you know that you've already fallen into a trap step by step."
