Let's go back a few days.
After a major battle with Fugaku Uchiha, the AB duo under the Third Raikage temporarily took over their father's position as commanders of the army.
The real Raikage, however, had already led a dozen or so Anbu ninjas on a detour to the Land of Fire and infiltrate Konoha. Their purpose, of course, was to seize the Kekkei Genkai.

Kushina's face turned deathly pale as she struggled desperately, the chains rattling loudly, but she remained motionless.

"Lord Raikage, please forgive us. We were discovered by the Hyuga clan and failed to complete our mission."

The Third Raikage frowned, raised his hand, knocked Kushina unconscious again, and hoisted her onto his shoulder.

"Lord Hokage, you must come immediately."
Minato Namikaze followed closely behind, extremely nervous, fearing he would be discovered, but courage ultimately triumphed over fear.
"Kushina, Mikoto Uchiha, please be safe!"
The Hyuga clan threw two Cloud Ninja corpses in front of the Hokage, and only then did Hiruzen Sarutobi realize that something terrible was about to happen.
