Chapter 450 - 452: Mr. Kensington, Please Come with Us to the Police Station
It was a message from the detective. He said he had obtained more definitive evidence and asked when Naomi Kenway would be free to come take a look.
Naomi Kenway replied that she’d be right over, then sent another message to her lawyer.
’It’s time to make Jackson Kensington and Lorraine Warren pay the price.’

Jackson Kensington was finally discharged from the hospital. After a long period of treatment, his body had mostly recovered, but his mental state was still poor. Ever since the last scare, he had been suffering from frequent insomnia.
He dreamed he was lying on a pile of joss paper while Rose Kenway, her hair disheveled, sat beside him. With a demonic, green face and bared fangs, she’d say she was going to strangle him, to drag him down to hell!!
Jackson Kensington told himself to get a grip and pull himself together. He couldn’t let something like this ruin his health.
A lot had happened recently, and he knew he wouldn’t be able to reclaim the company anytime soon.
Finally, he slapped his thigh and made up his mind. He would use the assets Rose Kenway left behind to start a new business!
He would establish his own company, and then no one could boss him around anymore.
But before that, he had something more important to do.
After begging everyone he could think of, Jackson Kensington managed to get a self-proclaimed "spirit medium" in a yellow Daoist robe to come to the villa.
The medium pranced around Jackson Kensington’s bedroom, holding a string of bells and chanting incantations. Suddenly, he shook the bells faster, his gaze fixed on the space behind Jackson Kensington. "Halt! Show yourself at once!"
Jackson Kensington’s soul nearly left his body. He spun around and saw no one behind him, then instantly became furious. "Where? There’s no one there! You damn charlatan, are you just trying to scam me out of my money?"
"Not so, not so. She is right here. You simply cannot see her."
The hair on Jackson Kensington’s arms stood on end. "Stop with this hocus-pocus!"
"If you didn’t believe in spirits and ghosts, I doubt you would have sought me out, would you?" The medium saw right through him. Noticing the dark circles under his eyes, he continued, "I can see the darkness between your brows. You must have been haunted by her for quite some time."
After a moment of contemplation, Jackson Kensington nodded. "I need you to drive her away, so she can never bother me again!"
"Her resentment is very strong. Driving her away will not be so easy," the medium said with a sigh, stroking his beard.
"As long as you can get rid of her, money is no object!"
"Very well. Since Mr. Kensington is so forthright, then I shall do everything in my power to help you banish this malevolent spirit! However..." the medium said, "before that, you must tell me the cause of your enmity. Only then can I devise a way to resolve it."
After much hesitation, Jackson Kensington dared not hide the truth. "It’s my ex-wife. Her... her death is related to me. She fell from upstairs and died from a head injury. Later, I staged a car accident. To avoid an autopsy, I pushed her and the car into the sea. Master, what approach do you think we should take?"
The medium hadn’t expected Jackson Kensington to be so ruthless as to commit murder, but since his own earnings had never been clean, he didn’t show much surprise.
Jackson Kensington continued, "She comes to me in my dreams every so often, and every time, she tries to drag me to my death. I’m terrified, Master. Is there a way to obliterate her soul completely? I want her gone, so she can never appear before me again!"
The medium shivered. "I’m afraid that’s not possible. Such an act would damage both of our spiritual merits. The best course of action is to find a way to appease her and persuade her to stop haunting you and reincarnate as soon as possible."
At this point, Jackson Kensington had no choice but to nod.
The medium mysteriously took a bracelet from his wrist and pressed it into Jackson Kensington’s hand. "Take this bracelet for now. It contains my true energy. The malevolent spirit will not dare to approach you."
Jackson Kensington put it on as if it were a priceless treasure and asked, "Master, what should we do next?"
"My disciples are on their way. When they arrive, I’ll have them set up the altar so I can perform the ritual."
Jackson Kensington nodded profusely. "Master, my life is in your hands! You absolutely must protect me!"
The medium nodded and led Jackson Kensington downstairs.
Jackson Kensington served the medium tea and water, but the ones who arrived were not the medium’s disciples, but the police.
Seeing several police officers approaching, the medium quickly put down his teacup and prostrated himself on the floor.
An officer walked up and showed his badge to Jackson Kensington. "Jackson Kensington, right? You are under suspicion for altering a will and for intentional homicide. Please come with us to the station for questioning."
The moment the handcuffs were slapped on, only one thought remained in Jackson Kensington’s mind: ’It’s over.’
’It’s all over.’
Even at death’s door, he remained defiant. "I didn’t do any of those things! You’ve got the wrong person! You can’t just slap a crime on me and drag me away! Is there no justice in this world?!"
"You can save that for the station. For now, you’re coming with us."

Naomi Kenway once again received a text from the "mysterious person."
Much of the evidence they had gathered so far had been found thanks to this mysterious person’s guidance.
Naomi Kenway was extremely curious about this informant, but she just couldn’t trace her physical location. A while back, a message from the informant had said not to investigate who or where she was, so Naomi had no choice but to suppress her curiosity and respect the "mysterious person’s" wishes.
Leo Lennox adjusted his glasses. "I didn’t expect her to send another message. What does it say this time?"
The anonymous message was very brief. Naomi Kenway looked up, slightly surprised. "She wants to meet me tomorrow at noon."
Leo Lennox asked, "Did she say anything else? Why does she want to meet you?"
"That was the whole message. I don’t know why she wants to meet me. Maybe she has something to tell me in person?"
Leo Lennox took Naomi Kenway’s phone. "Are you sure this is from her?"
"Based on the method and style, it should be her."
Leo Lennox was puzzled. "She said before that she didn’t want us to investigate her, but now she’s inviting you to a meeting. That’s a bit of a contradiction."
"That’s what I was thinking, too."
Leo Lennox handed the phone back to Naomi Kenway. "Are you really planning to go, Nina?"
Naomi Kenway nodded. "I’ve always been curious about how she knows so much about my mother. Getting the chance to ask her face-to-face... I think this is a great opportunity."
Leo Lennox hesitated. "It’s still a bit dangerous when we don’t know who she is."
Ethan Shaw, who had been silent for a long time, spoke up. "I’ll go with you. To have access to so many unknown clues means this person is very capable. Until we know her motives, I’m really not comfortable with you going alone."
"The message says she wants me to go alone. She doesn’t want our meeting to be disturbed."
Ethan Shaw’s brow furrowed.
Naomi Kenway said, "Don’t worry. We live in a society governed by the rule of law. I’ll protect myself. Besides, I feel like someone who has helped me this much can’t have any ill intentions toward me. I also want to see with my own eyes who she is and why she knows so much about my mother."
